Plane Forced to Land After Passenger’s Bag Flies Into Engine

Airlines have one job: get you and your bag to your destination.

Unfortunately, many modern airlines are pretty bad at both of those things. In 2022, around 26 million pieces of luggage were lost, delayed or damaged by airlines, and airlines are still experiencing massive delays (and lying about them).

Still, having to wait an extra day for your bag is better than what happened to this passenger. On a flight leaving Chile, passengers were shocked to see that their bags were falling out of the cargo hold and being eaten by the engine. The plane managed to turn around and make a safe landing, but the owners of those bags can kiss their possessions goodbye.
