Willem Dafoe as Ace Ventura Might Be the Most Absurd Deepfake Yet

The world of deepfakes is still fairly new, but the technology is crazy good. This edit is no exception.

Deepfake is a digital altering of a video or image where an individual is made to look like someone else. Obviously this has some negative connotations as it can be used to spread misinformation and dare I say it, fake news.

But some of the creations are actually really cool. For example, there is an entire Tom Cruise deepfake page which puts the action star in funny situations. Then there is this brilliant piece of work we stumbled upon thanks to the YouTube page, Ctrl Shift Face.

This deepfake puts Willem Dafoe's face on top of Jim Carrey in his iconic role of 'Ace Ventura' and the results are astounding. Is it a little creepy? Sure. But also now I really need to see Willem Dafoe in this role. I'm usually against remakes, but dang we need this.
