25 Healthcare Workers About to Toss the Elderly into the Ocean

End of life care - better known as hospice - is a tough job. They strive to make someone’s final chapter as pleasant and pain free as possible. People in their twilight years often don’t get to experience the joys of youth anymore, so hospice workers often take their grey, wrinkled companions out for a stroll. They wheel around the park, maybe a charming town square, and sometimes the ocean.

Occasionally, the job is too tough for these workers. After all, the whole thing revolves around “the end” for these people. And no one is more qualified to decide when that end is than a hospice worker. Long story short - sometimes hospice workers dump their patients into the ocean.

It’s actually quite beautiful. These people at the end of their lengthy, thinning rope of a life usually say “I’d love to see the ocean one last time”. They head out to the waves, and suddenly they get to see a lot of the ocean. Exactly what they asked for! Sometimes friends and family tag along, and it’s a wonderful watery ritual to send off a loved one into the other life.

Here are some pics of those joyous last moments before the deed is done.
