Elon Musk’s tenure at X (formerly Twitter), has largely worsened the social media platform's user experience. However, there is one new feature (and we're shocked Musk allowed it) from this year that slaps — Community Notes.

While Twitter users already worked together as a “This you?” force, the community notes tab gave legitimacy to fact-checking tweets on the daily, Musk's included. 

Elon has himself been community-noted over a dozen times and it’s poetic how angry he gets (at his own feature on his own website) every time it happens. And 2023 has been a banner year for fact-checking rage-baiting tweets, scammers, and right-wing lapdogs saying Tim Pool isn’t bald (he is).

So here's to Community Notes, the only thing to come out of the dumpster fire that has been Twitter this year. Can’t wait for more notes explaining basic history and exposing users for breaking the law.
