The Daddy Longlegs is not the most poisonous spider in the world. As the misinformation goes they have an extremely poisonous venom in their mandibles, but they are too small to puncture the skin. It isn’t true. The most venomous types of daddies can cause a small rash to a human, but nothing near a threat to life. -

Mother birds will abandon baby birds if the nest is disturbed. Birds don’t have very strong noses, they don’t smell very much and they especially won’t smell a human who has touched their nest. -

Ostriches do not bury their heads in the sand when scared. Typically, an ostrich will run away, but when they do decide to hide they do not burrow their heads. They crouch and put their heads low to the ground to avoid detection. Like a soldier going prone. -

Koala bears are not actually bears. They are marsupials, not bears. Sometimes the people who discover animals say oh look at the cute weird bear, and it sticks.
