God Of War Trilogy (Greek Mythology) - The PS2 classic from 2005 has expanded into more than just a trilogy. The God Of War is the story of Kratos's revenge on Greek gods and his struggle with his wife and child's death. The game is carefully crafted to include major aspects from Greek Mythology, including gods, most of whom die at the hands of the Ghost of Sparta.

Asura's Wrath (Hindu and Buddhist mythologies) - Capcom released this anime-like action video game in early 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360. The game received a mixed bag of reviews from critics and users. But the one aspect of the game that was well respected was the action sequence and the overall art direction.

Fight Of Gods (Various Mythologies) - Unlike others, here's a game that focuses on multiple mythologies. The game is all about fighting and crushing opponents. The main add-on is that every character in the game is a god. Who wants Ryu vs. Ken when you can have Jesus vs. Buddha.

God Of War (Norse Mythology) - After ending his Greek mythology journey, the God Of War is ready to wreak havoc in Norse Mythology. The new games in the series are a reboot in gameplay and character design but follow the same story. The best part about the God Of Water 2018 is its visual design and combat.

Soul Sacrifice (Stories From Western mythology) - The PS Vita classic is one of the better examples of games being inspired by mythology stories. The action-RPG is a bit outdated for today's standards, but it remains a better title on PS Vita.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Japanese & Buddhist Mythology) - From Software is just great at building souls like titles. But with Sekiro, they did a lot more and created a game of the year-worthy title full of action and interesting lore. The game has a brilliant architectural design, and it takes its inspiration from Japanese and Buddhist Mythology.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (Celtic & Norse Mythology) - Hellblade was the biggest risk Ninja Theory ever took, other than changing Dante's look. But it's great to see that their risk finally paid off. The game is unique in terms of U.I. and game design and a must-play for Celtic mythology people.

Black Myth: Wukong (Chinese Mythology) - The upcoming action-adventure title is already hyped because of its amazing gameplay trailers. Black Myth is based on Journey To The West's tale and already looks to be a fan service from the gameplay to graphics.

Dynasty Warriors (Chinese Mythology) - God of War isn't the only best hack and slash game based on mythology. Dynasty Warriors does a lot to establish the Chinese lore and is dripping from visual references and design elements from the mythology.

Assassin's Creed Origins (Egyptian Mythology) - Assassin's Creed has always been about history. But it was Origins that truly took the game back to the ancient days. AC Origins is heavily inspired by Egyptian mythology and allows the player to discover the secrets of the old miracles known as pyramids.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (Chinese Mythology) - Here's another game based on the Journey To The West. Enslaved is unique in its overall design and story and certainly deserves more recognition than it has. The game's main protagonist is Monkey, and the game also follows a similar tale to mythology. However, the biggest twist in the game comes at the end of the story.

Prey (Cherokee mythology) - The 2006 shooter is one of the best 2K Games titles ever. And even though it doesn't directly feel like a mythological game, it is inspired by Cherokee mythology. Domasi Tawodi, the main protagonist of Prey, has a background that developers chose based on Cherokee oral tradition mythology.

Raji: An Ancient Epic (Hindu Mythology) - Raji is a game built around Hindu mythology. It isn't the best game due to its limited gameplay mechanics and gameplay direction, but it certainly deserves mention for the great art direction and environments. Raji is one of the better games that originated from India.

Ōkami (Japanese Mythology) - Many may have forgotten this epic PS2 classic, but it's one of the better games based on Japanese mythology. The gameplay is on point for the time. It's a blast playing as a white wolf based on the Japanese goddess Amaterasu.

Ghost of Tsushima (Japanese Mythology) - This was hands down the best PS4 title in 2020, and for a good reason. Ghost Of Tsushima recreates the Japanese lore unlike any game before. The winds, the fields, and the water, everything glows as a water painting has come to life, and it's something to witness.
