Police officers in Newport, Rhode Island took the age-old tradition of wedding objections to new lows this week, finding themselves in a bridal brawl with a group of wedding guests who were denied entry from a local bar.
As authorities attempted to arrest one patron outside of The Landing, a seafood joint on Bowen’s Wharf at roughly 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, a melee erupted as police attempted to keep the partygoers at bay.

“Get back!” one officer yelled to a woman, who proceeded to kick him directly in the nuts. His balls likely aching, the cop followed suit, punching the woman back in the face, a move that single-handedly sparked several subsequent brawls, including one where a different woman found herself out cold on the ground.
“Oh my god, you just f—king knocked her out, bro!” yelled one bystander.
But even with this TKO, the wedding party all found themselves in trouble with the law, facing charges of assault surrounding the incident.
Though the group will learn their fates throughout their respective court hearings over the next several months, one thing is certain: Between this brawl and the Montgomery melee, wharfs and docks are the new boxing rings.
