Getting rejected ain’t easy. There are some dudes, however, who take it way, way harder than they should.
Instead of just walking away and accepting a temporary defeat, these guys try to make their case to the person who just explicitly told them no — hoping that, by pestering them with their words and biceps, they can convince them to go on what would inevitably be one of the worst dates of their life.
Recently, such a shot-shooter had their attempt at a recovery recorded, and in the process, documented one of the most hopeless tries ever put to film.
Guy gets rejected. Fight ensues.

The video starts after the attempt has been made. It’s unclear what exactly happened, but judging from the context, the man asked the girl out, she rejected him (she’s 17 and uninterested), and the dude blew a gasket.
“Seventeen is legal! It’s legal!” the dude exclaims. Note: In most U.S. states, 17 is not, in fact, legal, especially given the age difference between them (he’s 24). They do sound Canadian, where the age of consent is 16, but seeing as most 16-year-olds are still in high school, this is decidedly not chill, legal or not.
The girl does a good job of shooting down every one of his recovery attempts. He tells her to “respect older people.” She counters, “So when it comes to going on a date with me you’re not that old, but now I have to respect you?” Bodied.
Eventually, the man concedes that he’s lost, telling the woman to “go home” and that she “give[s] [him] trouble.” He later confusingly says to her, “You’re invisible to me” — a strange thing to say to someone you were trying to pick up less than two minutes ago.
Users on Reddit were quick to make jokes at the dude’s expense. “This is definitely not his first steroid injection, but it may be his first steroid rejection,” remarked one. “A 24yo said respect older people?! Honey, your brain still needs another year in the oven to finish developing. Calm down,” stated another.
A third, however, put it best: “Well, sucks for her! She missed out on years of insecurity and potential intimate partner violence. Poor girl.”
